Competitor Information
The championship welcomes over 800 horses and riders to compete over the course of the five days of competition. Please find below all the information that you should need for you and your horse's stay.
SHOWGROUND ACCESS
Horses may arrive on the showground from 12.30pm on Tuesday 17 April and the Showground Entrance will close at 11.00pm. The Entrance will be open from 6.00am – 11.00pm on show days; with the exception that the Entrance will close an hour after the completion of the Evening Performances on Friday & Saturday.
Horses requiring stabling must arrive on the showground before 7.00pm. Should any competitor be delayed, they must contact the Stable Manager on 07779 788014
STABLING
180 permanent stables plus temporary barn stables will be available on the showground at £27 per stable per night. Although bedding may be in your stable from previous occupants, bedding is not provided. If required, Safemix Equestrian bedding may be purchased from the Stable Manager at £5.50 per bag. For further information on Safemix Equestrian please visit www.ardenwoodshavings.co.uk. Straw is not permitted.
Stable hire is from 3.00pm – 3.00pm. Stables must be vacated on time so that incoming horses may be stabled. Your co-operation in leaving stables promptly and clean will be appreciated. Lighting is not provided in temporary stables. Any damage caused to stables will be charged to the hirer.
All horses will be balloted between permanent and temporary stables and it will be subject to the nights that stables are required rather than the date that stabling forms are received. Anybody requesting stabling for a horse not actually entered will be allocated temporary stabling for the companion and the horse entered. Notification will not be sent out to those allocated temporary barn stables. All stables must be applied for on official “Winter Championship Stable Forms” and paid for in advance. Stable Forms must be returned to the Show Secretary.
ELECTRICAL HOOK UP FROM HORSEBOXES
Limited 6amp electrical hook up is available for horseboxes staying on the showground at a cost of £70 for the show period. Horseboxes will require a 16amp (blue socket) extension cable to connect to the socket supplied by the event. Booking of Electrical Hook Up must be made by 22 March 2012 and is on a strictly first come basis.
COMPETITOR CARAVANS & CAMPING
There is no charge to competitors or owners of horses competing at the Championships who wish to bring a caravan or camp on the showground. Competitors should indicate their intention to bring a caravan or tent on the Official Stable Form and should contact the Stable Manager upon arrival. Electric is not available for tents. Caravans or tents may not be located next to the competitor’s horsebox or horse trailer.
WARM UP ARENA AND WALK EXCERCISE TIMES
Warm up arenas will be available for exercise from 2.30pm on Tuesday 17 April until 8.00pm. They are then open from 6.45am each morning and will close 1 hour after the completion of competition each day.
To avoid congestion competitors may only exercise in the warm up arena for the arena in which they are to compete and on the day that the horse is competing. Access to these warm up arenas may be available outside competition hours for general exercise.
By kind permission of Hartpury College, a designated General Exercise Arena will be made available at specific times at each end of the day for all other horses and notice of operational times will be posted outside the Show Secretary’s Office.
Only competitors competing in the Nirvana Spa Para Dressage Winter Championships and the Petplan Equine Elementary Open Championship Round 2 will be allowed to use the Petplan Warm Up Arena between 11.50am – 4.45pm on Wednesday 18 April.
